The Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute launched in 1989 thanks to the vision and generosity of Bob and Marion Wilson of California. Ever since, the Wilsons and a group of other committed donors have worked tirelessly to expand the list of benefactors for this immersive, hands-on program. The unique training that, to-date, more than 7,700 educators have received at the Institute is reinvigorating their teaching of American history and broadening their students’ very concept of America.
