About this entry:

Richard Taliaferro - pronounced "Tolliver" - (1705-1779) was a wealthy planter, but is better known now as an architect and the father-in-law of George Wythe. In his will, he left George and Elizabeth Wythe the house near the Palace in Williamsburg which is said to have been designed by Taliaferro.
